Support the Work
Support
The research should stay public. Donations should fund the work without buying influence over the findings.
Donation system status
The donation page is now established. The payment processor still needs to be selected and connected. Until then, this page acts as the public funding policy and placeholder for donation buttons.
What donations may fund
Hosting
Domain, Cloudflare, storage, and uptime costs.
Archives
Source capture, preservation, hash manifests, and link-rot protection.
Records
FOIA costs, public-record fees, document purchases, and source retrieval.
Research
Future audits, article production, data cleanup, and verification tools.
What donations do not buy
- Donors do not get to approve findings.
- Donors do not get to suppress findings.
- Donors do not get private access to evidence that should be public.
- Donors do not get to change the methodology.
- Donors do not get to turn the site into partisan advocacy.
Premium access decision
The current recommendation is donations first, not a paywall. Public-interest evidence should remain public. If paid tools are ever added, they should be convenience features such as bulk exports, alerts, institutional dashboards, or API access — not access to the core audit record.
